The KAS Foundation held a conference from 30.11 to 01.12.2017 in Istanbul entitled “Success Factors of Family Businesses” in cooperation with the German-Turkish Chamber of Industry and Commerce (AHK), Bahçeşehir University and Ernst&Young.
At the conference, which took place at the Conrad Bosporus Hotel in İstanbul, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hatice Karahan, the economic advisor to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has participated.
The event started with the opening speeches of Dr. Georg Birgelen, the Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Istanbul, Sven-Joachim Irmer, Head of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung Foundation Turkey and Dr. Markus C. Slevogt, President of German-Turkish Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
At the conference, which took place on 01.12.2017 at the Bahçeşehir University in İstanbul, Prof. Dr. Sabine Rau, founding director of Hidden Champions Institute (HCI) at ESMT Berlin, has given a lecture on family businesses. During the conference, the participants have discussed the success factors of family businesses and the situation of family businesses in both countries.
The Success Factors of Family Businesses program was concluded with an evening event attended by Deputy Prime Minister Mehmet Şimşek and former Prime Minister Mesut Yılmaz. In this context, the Deputy Prime Minister Mehmet Şimşek gave a lecture on the situation of the Turkish economy and the German-Turkish relations. The discussions focused on issues that economic relations and improved cooperation between the two countries.
Over 140 guests from both Turkey and Germany participated in the economic forum. The participants discussed the role of business and family businesses, investment opportunities in Turkey and German-Turkish relations.
