Graduate School of Business

Born in 1976 in Istanbul, Alper Aksoy received his civil engineering degree from Boğaziçi University (1998), where he also took various non-credit courses that further in time lead him to a language degree in French from Sorbonne and an MBA degree from Wharton (UPENN) and INSEAD (2004).

Following his undergraduate studies, he undertook international two-year-tenures in Georgia (Batumi), Poland (Warsaw) and France (Paris) mainly in the construction sector. Taking part in development and/or construction of mixed-use projects, including an airport, economic zone, and eco-sexy hotels facilitated specialization in site and project management, contract administration and project development.

Equipped with this 8-year-old global perspective and following his military service, Alper joined the family business active in construction, real estate and tourism sectors. He initially served as the business development manager of the construction company, where he then started the institutionalization and re-structuring. The Integrated Management System he established adopting ISO and OHSAS standards was later certified by Bureau Veritas for UKAS. The system operates on cloud since 2013 via a customized ERP System that increased efficiency within the company. The industry-first online-quoting service he also developed is accessible on the company website.

Alper is a member of GSOB BAU (Bahçeşehir University’s Graduate School of Business) Board, IMO (Chamber of Civil Engineers), INDER (Istanbul Contractors Association), GYODER (Association of Real Estate and Real Estate Investment Companies), and TYD (Tourism Investors Association).
He currently acts as the Corporate Team Leader of Aksoy Construction & Trade Inc., heading contracting and project development operations focusing on residential, hospitality and commercial projects. As a member of the Academic Committee on the GSOB BAU Board, he actively participates in revamping the MBA program.

Besides professional, social responsibility, and family time, Alper endeavors cultivating his interests in playing an instrument, technology, coding, and artificial intelligence.
